Thread Lift for Beautiful Brow, Cheeks, Jowls, Neck
Your face is often your calling card, and you always want to look your
best. However, if you are beginning
to see signs of aging in your face, you may have a desire for a mini face lift. The thread lift is a mini face lift that is often
called the “lunchtime lift.” An
obvious reason for this moniker is the fact that it usually takes very little time and the results can be
immediate. For people who do not
want to pay for a full traditional face lift and who don’t need extensive treatment, this procedure is the perfect
option. If you are experiencing
issues with sagging caused by weakened muscles or you have lost some facial support, then you may be interested in
this procedure. The basic idea is
that threads are connected in specified places to lift the sagging eyebrows or eyelids or even neck tissues to
produce a more youthful appearance. Procedure
Usually, the thread lift procedure is performed in an outpatient setting and there
is no need for general anesthesia. The only incisions made are small ones that fit the thin needle that the surgeon uses to insert
the threads. The threads are small
barbed sutures that are placed under the facial tissues in such a way that the barbs grab the sagging areas of skin
so that they can be pulled up and tightened. The teeth on the opposite ends from the barbs anchor the skin to the
tissue. During a thread lift,
anywhere from 2 to 20 threads may be used by the surgeon.
Because there are no true incisions, there is no scarring. No external sutures are used in this
procedure.
Thread Lift Contraindications
People with extremely jowly faces or those who desire a dramatic change in their
facial features should consider other procedures.
People who have serious medical issues are not good candidates for surgery, but
the thread lift doesn’t require anesthesia, so it may actually be an option for more
people.
Thread Lift Price
A thread lift can cost anywhere from $1500 to $4500, depending on the number of
threads used, the area of treatment and on the surgeon’s fees.
It is considered cosmetic or elective surgery, so the majority of insurance companies
will not cover its costs.
Thread Lift Complications
Complications of the thread lift procedure are generally quite minimal because it
is a minimally invasive procedure. Some temporary numbness, bruising, lack of sensitivity or swelling may
occur. The biggest issue is
when people don’t see a noticeable improvement.
People with very thin skin may see the threads through the skin and there is
the slight possibility that the sutures may migrate. If you experience
serious adverse effects or painful symptoms, your Physician will prescribe you an appropriate treatment
to fight against these health issues.
