Arm Lift Contraindications

Those individuals who will not or cannot give up smoking or drinking prior to and following the arm lift procedure will be in danger of complications. Thus, these substances are considered contraindications to the success of the surgery. Medications that increase the likelihood of bleeding in a patient will also be considered contraindications.

Arm Lift Cost

An arm lift will cost anything from about $5,000-$6,500. However, as with most cosmetic surgeries, the cost will differ from metropolitan areas to smaller communities, as well as with the cost of doctor, hospital, and anesthesiologist fees. The more skin that must be removed, the more possibility that the cost will be higher.

Arm Lift Possible Complications

The complication most complained of by patients undergoing an arm lift procedure is that they basically trade one cosmetic annoyance for another. While there will no longer be that flappy skin that they were worried about, there is usually a risk of scarring at the site of the operation. The size of the scar will depend on the extent of the surgery. Other complications include excess bleeding, infection, and swelling of the hands.
