Anti Aging Skin Care In Winter

The cold weather season of the winter does not carry as much moisture as warm air. Therefore, in winter, the air is dry, which is not a right condition for the skin. The skin becomes dehydrated much more quickly in contact with dry air. In addition to that, the air is not only drier (than in summer), but can also be more polluted, especially in depressed areas, which can cause more aggression to the skin, the protective organ of the body.

The extreme weather of the winter also modifies the metabolism of the skin. It causes the epidermis to lack the necessary lipids (fats). Sometimes, in some people, the sebaceous glands modify or completely stop their activity in the cold. That is, the thin film of grease designed to protect the skin from the cold attenuate s, and may disappear completely if it is very cold. These are the hands and face that are most affected, because they are not so well protected from the cold comparably to other parts of the body.

These problems cannot be completely eliminated, but they can significantly be controlled and reduced. To fight against dry skin in winter, practice the following tips:

  • Avoid hot tubs; hot water removes of the skin its moisture and fat, which increases its dryness.
  • In addition to the intake of amino acids and vitamins needed to nourish the skin from inside out, the skin needs an external supply of non-irritating of moisturizing lotion.
  • Not only amino acids, but also B vitamins are necessary for the skin in winter because they have hygroscopic properties – they absorb moisture from the air.
  • If you are a skier, avoid application of moisturizers when skiing because their moisturizing particles could freeze the skin. It is preferable to use a cold protection cream, and apply it on the exposed parts of the face: lips, ears, nose, etc.
  • Stay active to activate your skin metabolism and promote the transport of amino acids, vitamins and minerals in different layers of the skin. This is important generally in winter and summer.
  • In winter majority of people tend to drink little water. As in summer, it is important to drink plenty of water; the body needs a daily intake of at least two to three liters of liquid to keep it moisturized. To supplement your fluid intake, you can drink fresh lemon and carrot juice – two important foods for beautiful skin.
  • Use mild soaps in winter. The more you protect your skin against dryness and other atmospheric or chemical attacks, the more it will be able to fight against the cold weather.
